Huawei e1550 problems

Hello I have installed Huawei USB Modem e1550 support on Ubuntu 8.04, but when I plug it, it works a few minutes and crashes with errors like

I am trying to uplug it and plug it again but nothing happens .
Is there any issues of this problems?

If you have the opportunity at all, you might try a liveCD of the new version of Ubuntu, and see if you can configure this modem on it;

here is a thread where folks have got it working on 9.04

the essence seems to be that be making udev rules, you are telling ubuntu to see the modem not as CD-ROM device but as a modem

It's good if you are using 9.04 there is no any challenges. But there is some problems with Hardy 8.04 sometimes when You plug it, it fails with the errors shown before
