I use fairly old graphics card Nvidia GeForce4 MX4000.
A few weeks ago on 9,04 I started to get severe hang ups. I eventually decide it was a video problem so I change from the Nvidia nvidia driver to the Xorg driver. All the problems went away but I could no longer use Celestia. I have just tried the beta 9.10 kubuntu and have the same problems. I assume that the proprietary driver was updated without me noticing and it is no longer compatible with my card. I tried enabling backport repositories but don't find older drivers.
Any suggestions appreciated.
LATER. Reading stuff on an Nvidia forum it seems likely that the on-board memory on my card is broken
