    Keyboard not working during install

I've been trying to set a recording studio up, and as a result I've decided to go Linux, Ubuntu Studio to be exact. i downloaded the .iso, burnt it to a DVD and when I boot with the disc in I get a language select screen, but no use of either the mouse or keyboard to actually select english. Don't have a clue what to do.

    Can anyone help?

Is it a wireless keyboard, by chance?

No both the mouse and keyboard are wired. Standard plain Logitech stuff.

What version are you trying to install? 9.04 or 9.10?

Also, do you have a similar version of standard Ubuntu? It could be something to do with that release and trying a standard version might help you diagnose that. If that works, then I might suggest installing that, then installing the studio on top of it via Synaptics. Or, if you are using a 9.10 beta version, wait until the next beta release comes out, or stand by until the end of the month and get the full release that is due out.

I'm curious to know if the standard Ubuntu works with your keyboard and mouse, so if you try, please post the results.

Im using 9.04, and I have no standard Ubuntu. I have a feeling its just that the keyboard and mouse don't actually start up until the login screen on XP. And if it helps, they're USB.

If you suspect that, try going into your BIOS settings and see if there is a selection for "Legacy USB Support" or something like that. How old/new is the computer in question?

The age shouldn't be much of an issue there, so one thing you can try is to unplug the keyboard and plug it back in and see if control comes back while on the language selection screen. Sometimes that resolves such issues.

Thanks for that, but I hasn't worked. seems like all the USB ports don't come on until Windows comes in.
