Transcend emailed me that their mp3 players are supported under present Linux kernel.

I plugged in my mp3 player and it is working super fine.
Generally most Mp3 players are Generic USB Mass Storage devices and will work under Ubuntu.

There and back again...
Sony, and Creative as well as Apple hate linux users. Those should be the only ones that will give you problems, as most MP3 players are just like flash drives.
