In some previous version of Ubuntu (8.10 maybe?) the gnome-system-log (Gnome Log Viewer) would automatically scroll to the end of a log file and as new lines were added to the file, continually scroll to the bottom. So you could watch the logs scroll by without having to press any keys.

In the latest version on 9.04 (gnome-system-log v2.26.0) that no longer happens. Now I have to press CTRL-SHIFT-END to get to the bottom of the file. Then press LEFT and RIGHT to keep the viewport scrolled to the bottom of the file.

Anyone know of a way to have the window auto-scroll? I couldn't see any relevant settings in gconf-editor. Perhaps the old behaviour is back in 9.10?
