Screen resolution problem on dual booted PC

I use a dual boot system with Jaunty and Vista Home. I've got my laptop connected to my 50" TV via HDMI and so naturally i want full 1920x1080 resolution.

Problem is that I WAS able to choose this res as an option in Display Preferences - UNTIL i set the same resolution in Windows Vista. Now the option for that resolution has disapperared from the list completely. I reset Vista to the previous resolution but it has made no difference!

Yesterday I was viewing my display on my TV at high res and today there's nothing I can do to get it back! This is a major problem as if I cant get it back Im going to have to start using Vista as my main OS which i really dont want to do!

Does anyone know why this happened and how I can get it back? Its nothing to do with drivers because I can easily get high res on Vista and until today could do on Ubuntu as well.

    Help please guys?

    Thanks
