mythtv and it's recordings dir....

Well, i've looked every where for a clear answer to this.

mythtv default "home" recordings dir is @ /var/lib/mythtv/recordings/

using mythtv-setup i have got into the dir section and add two other drives, thus adding more space.

Now i'd like to remove the default recording dir "/var/lib/mythtv/recordings/" and just use the other recording dir's, (and copy all the files to the other spaces). but when i try and do this myth just stops recording/working. Does mythtv-backend always need it's defaulf dir in-place to work?

Have you set the right ownerhip/group of the other folders you're trying to save recordings in? Type chown into the search bar and you get lots of threads about it.
