With the new sound preferences GUI, we've lost much of the sound theme fine-tuning ability we had before. You can basically select a theme, an "alert," and whether to have sounds for button presses.
Those options, at first, seem like all you'd need, but many of the souns in the sound theme are no longer used - even when selecting the button press option.
Further, I tried out the sound theme I use in Jaunty (the Ubuntu Studio sound theme), and the only sound from that theme that was used was the login sound. The rest were the usual drum beats from the default Ubuntu theme.
Is this somehow intentional, or is the new GUI just not feature complete yet?
