    Media Tomb

I've installed Mediatomb on my Ubuntu server with the hope of eventually streaming pictures, films and music to a PS3 or other device. Can anyone point me in the direction of an easy to understand guide which includes transcoding from non DivX film files such as Xvid, mpeg, flv etc as well as non MP3 audio.

Sorry for asking a question which I'm sure has already been answered somewhere but I can't find anything that seems to be written for a newbie to Linux and Media Tomb and the guides at http://mediatomb.cc/ and it's forums are way above my head.

    Here's a good start:

I've run mediatomb for over a year, post specific questions or issues here and I'll try to help you out. Should be pretty straight forward, unless you want to trasncode on the fly (e.g. mkv files, as the PS3 will not play these).
