    Restore to earlier time

Alright, so ive messed around with the terminal so much, that for some reason, i just cannot connect to any webpage at all, ubuntu shows that i have an internet connection, yet i cannot connect to anything, when i try to connect through another computer, i cannot even get the connection to stay on, it just connects then disconnects, i know ive screwed up royally, and i just want to roll back to when i started, or at least to an earlier time, can someone please help me with this ?

You could go to synaptic package manager and remove iptables and then reinstall iptables. Hopefully the settings you have put in will disappear upon removal and not reappear upon reinstallation.
