    What webcam to buy? Want it to be fully compatible.

    I want to buy a webcam for my desktop, which is currently running 9.04.

    I have an Nvidia GPU and an AMD QUAD core.

    Anways, I want to buy a webcam that takes high resolution video and photos and is fully compatible with Ubuntu, with minimal fooling around with drivers.

    I have a maximum of $90 to spend, to don't link anything too expensive. Thanks in advance.

    P.S. I live in canada.

    Not to overwhelm you but here's a pretty good list of supported cams based on the Linux UVC project.

    http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/#devices

    The Linux UVC drivers are built into kernels newer than 2.6.26 so you probably don't need to do anything extra to get the camera working in Ubuntu.

    A quick glance at reviews points to the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 as the best sub-$100 webcam on the market. Again, check the device list for compatibility.

    Hope this helps!

    Logitech Pro 9000 used to work on my Ubuntu 9.04, but now causes my wireless adapter not working... strange!

    Ebay is a great source for compatible hardwares, too!
    Ebay.com-> Computers & Networking->
    check "Include title and description" box,
    search for "linux", then click on the components on the left
    or search for "linux webcam"
