Question Ubuntu Game Night – October 18th – The Mana World

    Gamers,

The UGN (Ubuntu Game Night) game of the week is The Mana World.

The Mana World is an Open Source 2D Fantasy MMORPG where you unjustly slay Grubs and Scorpions because some guy bribed you with gold.

The Event is on Sunday at 1800 GMT ( 2 PM EST ). The length of the event varies between 2-4 hours.

For more information about UGN or the event please visit http://gwos.org/ugn/. We also have and IRC chatroom that you can access here http://java.freenode.net//index.php?channel=UGN

Cool Re: Ubuntu Game Night – October 18th – The Mana World

Sorry I missed this event, I hope it went well for everyone.

I've been playing TMW for a few months, 2 observations.

1] I had quite a bit of trouble getting the idea of the game interface and it's methods. Probably just me.....

2] As of 3 or 4 days ago when I looked for TMW, the Ubuntu repo for UNR v9.04 has an older TMW client. Firstly, lotsa new stuff in the game requires the version of client just after our repo version. Also, the repo version as of that day is 2 releases behind their current client version (current version 29.1 was released 3 months ago), and finally, TMW developers dropped support for the version before our repo version.

In other words, we might soon have an obsolete client in our repo. Nudge, nudge.
