All In One Printers in Linux

I am looking for an all in one laser printer that has linux support preferably out of the box. I realize I will have to buy one used and that is fine. I have given up on trying to get even the printing function of my canon MF3010 working.

If anyone out there knows of a site that has this information it would be greatly appreciated. I have tried the windows 8 preview and frankly its time to make the switch. I just need a stable OS but one that also has hardware support.

I don't know about AIO but my Xerox 3124 works like a charm. It's straight BnW laser.

Once you've narrowed your search to a specific device check http://www.openprinting.org/printers and find if your printer is supported.

HP is generally the easiest, just download hplip & hplip-gui. I've had very good luck with Brother. Their linux support pages are here:

It looks more intimidating than it is, in part because Brother relies on command line installations. They have an install script that makes installing the printer function very simple once you're familiar with bash scripts.

Epson usually gets good marks for Linux compatibility. Consumer grade Lexmark stuff is frequently a pain. It seem Canon drivers are more frequently found on non-North American sites - Australia, Malaysia and Singapore seem to have more Linux related drivers etc.

I appreciate the info. I will probably just pick up a used one on ebay and will probably roll with HP.

Seems like HP software is out of the box with most linux distros and sounds easy for me which I have no issues with.
