I installed a Sound Blaster Live PCI card (Model: CT4780), and when I tried to start up my computer, the Ubuntu startup screen comes up, and freezes with the progress bar at approx. 10% complete. I shut down and took the card out and it booted fine. I've tried booting with the speakers plugged into the new card, and with the card installed, but the speakers still plugged in to the on-board sound port- and it seems as long as the Sound Blaster is seated in its PCI slot, Ubuntu freezes at the same point during startup.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04
