Not sure if this is the right spot for this....

I have an internal DVD drive which won't play some 'commercial' DVDs. It only seems to want to play DVD data disks that I've made. Won't play bought films. I also wanted to back up a couple of DVDs which are getting old. How can I do that if they have copy protection on them? Did have DVDFab when I had Windows, which could do it.

Also have an external dvd drive that won't work on Ubuntu(says unable to mount drive) and it will read CDs but not DVDs on my Windows machine. Co that sold it to me says it's a software issue??
