Question Handheld "Computer" for terminal only?

    Hi there,

I'm looking for a device that is small enough to carry arround, cheap enough to buy ( ), and only needs to run a terminal for ssh and such.

Any hints? Probobly something like the OQOv2 but I think that is discontiued.

Something around $300 would be nice.

    Thanks,

    Ed.

P.S. I'll post again if I find something.

Sorry, I was just trying to point out that linux can be installed on almost anything in terms of hardware, asking for advice on something cheap to install it on is somewhat counter intuitive, it would be better to look for a few items that look like they'd accomplish what you want, then ask if anyone has advice on which would be best to use and for advice setting it up.

Looks like I found what could be exactly what I'm looking for! The "Zipit" for $50 hacked for linux here: http://hunterdavis.com/archives/201#more-201

looks like I'll be picking one up!

Let me know what you guys think.

The Nokia Internet Tablet should suit your needs. It runs maemo, a Linux variant, and the older models, such as the N800, can be found discontinued or used pretty cheap. Lots of people have hacked them to run Ubuntu or other veriants. It has its own forums here.
