    Reinstall feels like new computer

I reinstalled Jaunty 64bit on my machine.

I was getting stability issues with OOo and a few other glitches here and there. My hunch was that the 64bit/32bit Java systems were at fault (I'm Noooo expert but that was my hunch). I've been trying to use various bits of software which need the computer to pretend to be 32 bit etc.

Anyhoo, re-installed got all my packages back online and it just looks/feels almost behaves like a different -and better computer.

Its simple things like the default font in firefox and big things like the (so far so good) much improved stability in OOo.

I'm as impressed with Ubuntu now as I was when I began this journey

I noticed the same thing when I did a re-install.

I suspect there might be a lot of "hacks" and/or compromises involved in making release upgrades work, as opposed to getting the real, latest release when doing a re-install...

sluggish after awhile and now not after a fresh install? lol, sounds like another OS.
