ubuntu restarts randomly

Hi, I have been having problems with my Ubuntu...

It's been restarting randomly, no warning or anything. Just a black screen, and it restarts. Is there any sort of info logged in Ubuntu that could help me figure out what's going wrong?

My first thought was that it's a heat problem. I had a friend with a computer like that. It turned out it was full of dust. A good vacuuming fixed the problem. If it's not dusty it could be something overheating, like RAM. Check the dirt first.
