Trouble mounting iPod Touch 2g on ubuntu 9.04

    Hey guys,

wondering if anyone knew how to mount the iPod on ubuntu 9.04 in such a way that the system would recognize it as a media player.. so that i can transfer music/video files to it

At the moment, ubuntu only recognizes it as a photo camera...which isnt much use.

still trying to find out how to do it..

I've tried various ways and they all failed - there just aren't any applications available that will work for the 2g so far as I'm aware. My solution is a small VirtualBox install of Windows, so I can sync on itunes through that. I'm holding out for a native linux application that'll support it soon though...

thanks for showing me that it is possible
but for it to be possible you need to have the iPod jailbroken, which i have not.
and to JailBreak the iPod, from what i have gathered.. you need a PC/Mac..also which i have not.

    any other suggestions out there?
