Question finally installed but no choice to start it

i started installing ubuntu thru wubi n liked it so i uninstalled wubi n decided to install it in its own partition on a second HD, so after days of trying this n that, this newb finally got ubuntu installed and at the end of the installation i reboot BUT when it comes to select which OS to boot, my choices are:
    windows
ubuntu (old version which is no longer installed)
..and thats it...wheres my new ubuntu? how do i eliminate the existing ubuntu choice?
    please help =)
