    Dreamweaver Replacement

    Is there a good linux app that I can use as a dreamweaver replacement? I basically want an app that I can edit webpages in and connects to an ftp so that I can update files on the web server easily.

    Thanks

    Okay, I've used linux for a little while now but have only ever used gnome. I noticed Quanta Plus" says "KDE Web Dev Team" at the bottom and looks super kdeish. Does that cause problems if I'm running gnome?

    Quanta Plus is good and KDE apps usually bring in a ton of dependencies so I stay clear, but if you think its worth it then go for it

    To install it in GNOME search for quanta in Synaptic or run this command in terminal;

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install quanta

    Look here and look for the desktop publishing section.

    Thanks for all of the help.

    I think I'll stay clear of kde apps then, I'm a minimalist and don't want all of the dependencies.

    Has anyone used screem? That looks like it might be worth a shot.

    Tried Screem, but have finally settled on Bluefish. Give it a try.

    Re: Dreamweaver Replacement

    From what I have read, there is not really a "replacement/equivalent" for Dreamweaver on Ubuntu/linux, but if you really love it and want to stick with it, I have heard of people having success running Dreamweaver with WINE in Ubuntu, so that may be an option you'll want to look into.

    You can also try Arachnophilia. It's a Java program.
