any way to get "sumtotal Neuron" to work in ubuntu?

I just started an intro to programming course, and one of the requirements is that version 9.0 of this plugin be installed

It claims to support firefox, but the only installer available is a windows exe. I've tried wine, and the install process seems to work, but then launching it from the applications menu doesn't seem to do anything. Is there any way to make this kind of thing work?

Windows only software is always problematical when run under an emulator - you may have to run it in a Windows environment.

oh, but Wine Is Not an Emulator...

anyways, it's not looking like it's a big deal, the teacher just sent out an update saying that this stuff's not going to be graded, since it's apparently a problem for everyone.
