I am currently dual booting vista and ubuntu 9.04,
My question is how do I get an internet connection I am using a HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop I have an internet connection with Vista but when I boot with Ubuntu 9.04 I have no connection it just goes nowhere I am getting frustrated with some of the replies I have some computer knowledege but I would appreciate some help my aim is to get away from microsoft but if I cant solve my problem I will be stuck with a bad operating system.
My connection is with Telstra it is a next g wireless broadband modem but connects to my laptop via a usb connection ( Maxon BP3-EXT)

Are you connected to the router via wireless? Is your wireless card working? If not you may have to install drivers for it. Frist thing I would do is connect with a wire and see if you can connect.
