Unable to use wireless security on home network

This my first time using Ubuntu on a laptop and I have not been able to get the wireless on my home network. I have a Gateway C-142XL tablet.

When I disable the security on the router, I can connect to my home network. However, I don't want to do that so how can I get Ubuntu to work with my Wireless security? I am using a DLINK router with WPA2 wirless security, TKIP cipher, and PSK (whatever that is).

    Further info:

When I run lspci –v | less, I get no information so I'm assuming Ubuntu is not even detecting my wireless card?

Here are my computer's specifications: http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/...6046Rsp2.shtml.

Any help, as always, is appreciated.

Have you tried connecting to the secure wireless through a terminal without using a GUI app?

Little short on time but if you need to know how to do that just ask and I'll get back to you ASAP.
