Can I add my own program into Ubuntu repository

    Hello,

I am writing my own program. It is / will be free. Is it possible somehow to add it into Ubuntu repository system? I don't know how repositories and linux works. My application is written in Qt4 with qt creator.
I don't want to create repository myself, because I don't have any free space left on hard drive and I have low upload speed.

The short answer is no, not without meeting the criteria. For a start have a look at this page.

If you have it done you can set it up via Launchpad and create a PPA (Personal Package Archive) this way it will be hosted there and people can add it to their third party repositories.

If you need help let us know!
