Change network channel?

Can anyone tell me how to change my network channel in terminal and if this will effect anything? Think I'm getting interference from next door neighbor using same channel.

using ubuntu 9.04 connecting through wicd (no option to change through graphic tool)

It's usually done at the router end. I don't know how to do it from the command line, but many routers have web-based control panels.


If you tell us what kind of router you're using maybe someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
