    No mouse cursor in Fluxbox

This question relates to Fluxbox on Arch Linux. I just installed Fluxbox and when I start it, it comes up all right, except that there is no cursor, although I can still get the right click menu. It seems like the cursor is invisible.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I rebooted the computer, and now when I 'startx' the mouse cursor shows up but the mouse and keyboard stop working. The lights on the keyboard shut off, although the laser stays on on the mouse, but neither work.

Hi Mega, I recommend reading the following two documents THOROUGHLY and then taking your question to the Arch forum if the issue is not resolved.

    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners_Guide
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fluxbox

I have never experienced the problem you describe using Fluxbox in Ubuntu. Perhaps that's an option you could try if you don't have luck with Arch?

Thanks for the links I started reading some material on the wiki and found that I needed to start the HAL daemon. So now my problems are solved, thanks a lot!
