    Evolution Default Email Address

    Greetings All,
Like most people, many of my contacts have multiple email addresses. I would like to be able to assign a "default" email address when I compose an email message to a particular person. I use Evolution. Is there a way to do that? Thanks...

After experimenting with my system I have found that Evolution offers the e-mail addresses for a matching Contact in the reverse order that you have entered them.

If you want a "default" address that appears at the top of the list, make that the last entry in your Contact data.

Do you have the actual Address Book marked as "Default" (right-click, Properties)?

Oh, oh - I just noticed you are using 8.04, on my 9.04 I am using Evolution 2.26.1.

You may want to upgrade to 9.10 when it is released shortly to get the latest Evolution (you cannot just upgrade the package).
    Regards, David.

    Yep...
    Thanks David.
I've been debating whether or not to wait for the next LTS version. I'm generally happy with 8.04, but I was hoping there might be a quick fix for this Evolution issue. I'm hoping the developers will consider "ordering" the email fields. That would help.
Regarding your previous post, yes my address book is my default (my only address book).
    Thanks,
    Glen

Also, it seems to always take the work email as default over the home email. Which is probably fine in a corporate environment, but i'm not in one of those...
