regsvr32 wineasio.dll is successful. Its when I change the driver in the application to WineASIO. The applications always crash and never set the driver to Wine ASIO. Also, forcing the driver through regedit doesn't allow FL Studio to even start up.

I would say you have some problem in Wine or Jack...

can you try installing FL Studio on a new 'Prefix':
    Code:
    export WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-fls
    wineboot
    regsvr32 wineasio.dll
    wine <path-to-fl-installer>
    wine <path-to_FL.exe>
Also make sure Jack is started before using WineASIO and that other apps are able to use Jack Audio/MIDI Properly

I just don't get it. I followed your guide by the book, only difference was that I used wine1.3. I even uninstalled my wineasio and installed yours. Completely deleted all my wine folders and instalation and reinstalled.

Jackd is working, tested my guitar on rakarrack and it worked nicely. I just can't get FL Studio or Guitar Rig to start. They just freeze when I choose wineasio driver.

EDIT: Tried it with wine 1.2, same problem. Tried it with my own build, I get an error in wine saying "there are not enough output ports. At least 2 are required". I've got 2 out and 2 in on the connector, what else does it want...?

    I've compiled WineASIO 0.8.1:
    for 32bit - http://sourceforge.net/projects/kxst...t.deb/download
    for 64bit - http://sourceforge.net/projects/kxst...t.deb/download

    Try these

I'll try your new deb as soon as I get home. Did you compile then with wine-dev 1.2 or wine-dev 1.3? Jack2-dev?

    EDIT: Same problem

I had the same problem when using wineasio 0.7.5 (but with Reaper) and wine 1.3.5.

I bypassed the freezing by installing wineasio 0.8.1 and keep using wine 1.3.5. But, at this time I have no inputs and no outputs, despite of setting 4 inputs and 4 outputs, and test it by writing down (and after by doing restart of gnome session), one time exclusively and one time both, in files .profile and .wineasiocfg:

    Code:
    export ASIO_INPUTS=4
    export ASIO_OUTPUTS=4
    Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit

I didn't try putting it in .profile. I'll do that and give it a try later!

So... I gave that a try, didn't work. Tried the variables in /etc/profile, nothing either. Tried them in /etc/environment and still the same thing.

Jackd (and my guitar) work fine on Rakarrack, tho I don't know how to change the Jackd general volume.

Is it because I've got input on one sound card and output on another? I do this because Jackd doesn't start if I try to use my ESI UGM96, I get an Alsa error saying broken pipe on output, so I just use my gaming headphones for output.

Maybe I should roll back to Lucid? I got it working on Lucid before I upgraded to Maverick, tho it still makes no sense.

    should be ok
    This doesn't work for me.
I can't get wineasio.dll registered no matter what I do.

This is the output of commands Pablo F gave on page 15:

    david@david-desktop:~$ uname -rm
    2.6.32-25-generic x86_64
david@david-desktop:~$ sudo updatedb && locate wineasio
    /home/david/Downloads/wineasio-beta_0.9.0~beta0_32bit.deb
    /home/david/Downloads/wineasio-beta_0.9.0~beta0_64bit.deb
    /usr/lib32/wine/wineasio.dll.so
    /var/lib/dpkg/info/wineasio-beta.list
    david@david-desktop:~$ wine --version
    wine-1.2
