    Question Gfire help

I have the IM setup and working, I have both AIM and Xfire working peacefully together. But, I have no idea how to launch games. Yes, I searched. I am a Linux n00b, but I would probably say I have a decent grasp on it. Gfire_launch.xml makes no sense to me.

The games I want to detect are Doom 3, Quake 3, CS 1, CS:S, TF2, and DOD:S. (which would seem to be identical to CS:S)

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Re: Gfire help

Hi, on the Gfire website. There is a link called "Portal". It is a link to the Gfire Games Portal which helps Gfire users to get games to work with Gfire.

    Re: Gfire help

I know, I've been there. I'm sorry, I should have said I did a little research prior to asking. I don't understand any of that. Do the windows games work with Linux, and what are the bin directories and dir directories.

    lol bump

i can see that this post is a little old, but i'm gonna answer anyway. windows games won't work on linux and as far as i can tell, gfire is strictly for chatting purposes. i don't think you can get the games to work with it.

    Re: Gfire help

I know this thread is a probably dead... but it came up in my search results when I was trying to get gFire to work.

I got things sorted out with help from these links: Setting up GFire in Ubuntu (YouTube video) and this thread on setting up game detection for Windows games.
