Seriously though, have you looked to see if this sort of thing would be possible in Amarok, or on the GNOME side of things Rhythmbox or Banshee?

As for critique, the search seems to small and out of place and there isn't enough contrast to tell which is selected between Music Video Settings
It more a case of Apple's legal monkeys going ape !
    Looks too much like iTunes.

Instead of having buttons for audio and video, I'd make them 2 different libraries accessable on the right. And I'd use ffmpeg or mplayer for playback.

Really? Not too familiar with iTunes (even in Windows I don't use it) but the mockup looks really similar to Songbird, and I think that's where part of the inspiration comes from.

Now that I look at iTunes, grey seems to be the only similarity.
If the only reason you think your software is better is because it's FOSS, you need to write better software

    I see, well then:

"Change icons in lower left, currently like iTunes"

    I don't like it.
Rhythmbox, Songbird & co. seem so clumsy to me.

I prefer the foobar2000 / Exaile approach: the Library is near the active playlist + tabbed playlists.

Do you guy Really like the songbird approach?

I posted in the other thread, but miro has a similar interface.

    Re: Linux Media Player Mockup

I've started making a Version 2.0 it should be finished by the end of the week, created from scratch but should keep the general look of 1.0.

Changes will be the color scheme (different shade of grey)
    Moving and re-designing search box
More icons and replace the already used icons with better, clearer and more appropriate ones. Including removing the shuffle icons I stole from itunes.
