    Can I make windows transparent when I drag them?

    Hi.

    I want windows to become transparent when I drag them, and remain opaque otherwise. This seems like the obvious use of transparency, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it. (n00b.)

    thanks.

    Indeed you can, once you have Compiz (Desktop Effects) running then launch Compiz config settings manager located in system > prefs > compiz

    If its not there just install it, either through synaptic or run this command in terminal;

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
    Once you have Compiz config settings manager loaded navigate to the Move Window plug-in which is located in the Window Management section. Here you can set the transparency level of windows while being dragged.

    No problem have a look around at the other plugins aswell, once your familiar with them it will make it much easier to identify which plugins do what.
