    Display system information on background

    Hi,

How do you display system information (i.e. cpu usage, RAM, system uptime etc) on the desktop of a GNOME Jaunty Jackal environment?

    Thanks.

I think you are speaking about conky. You can install it from the repository. There are several guides on how to configure it on the forum.

    Yes, Conky works brilliantly. Thanks.

I installed it using sudo apt-get install conky, replaced the /etc/conky/conky.conf with a configuration found here, and then made conky startup automatically (using System > Preferences > Startup Applications from the menu).
