    Question MythTV backend only

    Hi all,
I've recently become enamored with XBMC and I am considering setting up a MythTV backend on my PC. I am waiting for version 0.22 which inlcudes full support for the Hauppauge HD-PVR.

My question is: do I really need the MythTV frontend at all? I've been reading up on XBMC's support for using a MythTV backend to play recordings and watch live tv. And it seems like I do can everything else using Myth's web interface.

I know that technically I don't need the frontend, but what I'm really looking for is opinions from people who may have used both. Are there any important features that are missing with an XBMC+MythWeb setup?

Does anyone know of an elegant way of importing MythTV recordings into XBMC's library? From everything I've read it seems that Myth uses air date information to store it's metadata whereas XBMC relies on season and episode date in the file name to scrape the info from the theTVDB.com.

Thanks ahead for any and all input.
