Hello,
This is the MSI 845G Max motherboard that has a built-in ICH4 Integrated LAN controller with an Intel 82562ET chip, AXPI and APM supported, Wake-On-LAN and WFM 2.0 supported.
I think it mentioned a Linux driver, but I wouldn't know how to apply it. This computer is for a friend who is a Windows XP user yet, but I'm hoping to have her try Karmic soon. I even tested the latest Mint and it had the same problem. I'll probably stick in a NIC card for further testing with the latest Ubuntu 9.10.
Oh, Puppy's Woof UPUP-473 found the NIC Ubuntu didn't as pci: Intel Pro/100 VE (CNR) Ethernet Controller. Being a Beta it's still a little rough, but it found it and connected to the Web. Please get more done with getting in drivers to connect to the Web.
Thanks,
ChiJoan in Reno
PS: I love the brown color scheme. I hope I can have "all" the screensavers work in the final Karmec, now it's not so easily done.
