does you graphics card have two vga or dvi ports?
I have one graphics card with a VGA, S-Video and DVI connection.
and have you plugged the two monitors in the graphics card? What happened? What's the model of the card? more info plx.
for a guy with over 400 posts of experience, you are providing too little information
Sorry for not being clear, what I would like to achieve is to have dual monitors, I have an nVidia GeForce 6200 card. The graphics card has one VGA, one S-Video & one DVI connection.
Currently I have not purchased a second monitor but I am buying one tomorrow.
Ok, so if you're currently using a VGA monitor, then your new one should be DVI. If you already use DVI, then your new monitor will need a DVI-VGA converter. I'm sure you already have your nVidia drivers installed, and you will also want to install the nvidia-settings package with apt-get or synaptic. How you set it up from there will be up to personal preference, but it really helps if the monitors are the same size/resolution.
Thanks for the help, I'm sorry about not giving all the information in the first place. Thanks once again.
No problem. I'm subscribed to this thread and have the same video card as you, so I'll keep my eye on this if you need any more help.
