looking to setup an ftp server on a spare computer i have here i'm looking for something even my friends could use i'd like to know if theres anytype of way i could set up a simple web interface that would have a simple login and search options with indexing something that would be simple for everyone to use right now for my own means i use SFTP between computers at home any help would be appreciated

If you just want an easy ftp server that doesn't have to give good performance you could try the crossftp server http://crossftp.com/crossftpserver.htm


If youre into something more hardcore you could take a look at glftpd, drftpd, vsftpd, proftpd and pureftpd.
