    Re: Asus T91 linux installation

Has anyone else had problems with the clock on the T91 suddenly losing hours of time? I'm running Ubuntu UNR 9.10. I installed ntpd so the time is correct whenever I have a network connection but when I don't the time is completely unreliable. I'm not entirely sure if it's becoming incorrect while on, while off or both, though I'm beginning to suspect it's only when it's on.

I need to open the T91. I can't find any how-to in the net.
Does anyone have any idea how I should procede ? (not need to say very very carefully

Have a look at http://myt91.info/?tag=disassembly I did it myself, with a little damage to the chassis because I was rushing a little (and had a 9 month-old trying to eat the screws while I did it). Probably not that much care needed as long as you follow the instructions and don't force anything. I had to do it because I dropped mine and it stopped working.

So what are you running now if not 9.10?

I'm still running 9.10 but this bug don't appear anymore.

Guys! What about random freezes? I didn't have it for a long time (with disabled sound in BIOS) but now freezes appear again

I wonder if disabling sound fixed your clock? (Crazy, but who knows. Mine still loses time constantly, and I have sound enabled.)

The only freezes I get with any regularity are:
    • netbook launcher sometimes (pretty rarely) crashes (other applications still run fine). I've set up a keyboard shortcut to bring up the "panel" menu, so I can still do everything if this happens. I have to shutdown with alt+REISO though to have it come up cleanly the next boot.
    • The trackpad or keyboard sometimes become unresponsive (sometimes this includes a key "sticking" so I might get an endless string of 'jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj' in oowriter, for example). This can usually be fixed by tapping the touchscreen, which seem to "unstick" everything.

    Re: Asus T91 linux installation

Just wrecked my whole installation thanks to a freeze during upgrade.

Have now replaced the whole Ubuntu with Lucid 10.04.

Looks pretty neat so far, most things are working out of the box. However there seems to be no possibility to get the Poulsbo to run, any suggestions?

For now at least it's better than the running 9.04 I had, the freezes just took away all the fun. At least in 10.04 the menu isn't as slow when no psb driver is running, you can actually work pretty well with it, it's just not quite as smooth as it should be.

No PSB support with the Xorg shipped with Lucid...
