Re: Asus T91 linux installation
You mean if you stick the SD card back in (on the side slot - Harddrive extension) it boots again normally? Or did you use the front slot?
I'm waiting for the prices of SD cards to drop, so that I can replace the one delivered with the eeepc, 15MB/s is simply too slow.

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
For me, no matter where the card is inserted, no matter if the card is even inserted or not, the netbook don't work.

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
I wonder if that thing simply overheats... it does get pretty hot, when I leave it on for a longer time I put it upside down while not using it. That way the heat doesn't get stuck underneath.

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
I think the same.
I wonder if there is some warning in the documentation about that.

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
I've just checked sensors:
acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: virtual device
temp1: +67.0°C (crit = +88.0°C)
eeepc-virtual-0
Adapter: virtual device
fan1: 0 RPM
The "virtual devices" are confusing me. How virtual are they? If they are authentic then the temperature seems to be ok. It's not my first device that is almost at 70°C. I'm using it almost all day long and it is not getting so hot I could burn myself. The intel manual says below 85°C for the cpu is ok (http://download.intel.com/design/pro...hts/319535.pdf).
The device has no active cooling, right? I haven't read of, heard or seen one (http://jkkmobile.blogspot.com/2009/0...dissected.html).
My bios firmware is 0403.

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
Is there any "smart" way to figure out, if the device has the GPS device integrated? I bought mine on auction, so I'm not sure.
In Bios PCI devices there something mentioned 3G
Is there some simple program in Ubuntu that could recognize and use it?

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
There is no fan that can be heard in the netbook.

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
I think lspci or lsusb should show you something.

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
@Leed: If you bought the T91, then there is no GPS integrated. There might be some devices (T91GO) in the future with integrated GPS, but as far as I know only the T91 is on the market right now.
After your guaranty has expired, there seems to be a way to rearm your device. Take a look at already mentioned link http://jkkmobile.blogspot.com/2009/0...dissected.html .

Re: Asus T91 linux installation
Looks fun, for now I wouldn't dare put a soldering iron on my t91, but for the future, who knows
