What did they do? (blocked!)

I have a dell laptop from work running XP. I cannot connect to my Jaunty box with ssh-exceed, VNC or samba. Other machines on the home network can. Did they install some hidden app? Change some hidden setting? I've tried 2 different versions of VNC.

Any ideas?

I'd look at firewalling first - see if you can ping both ways on your network between those PCs.

Thanks for the response. I can not only ping, but can connect using Putty from XP to (K)ubuntu. I just can't get graphics. I have X forwarding enabled, but when I invoke an X program, is says "No display selected" or something similar.
