SD Card only reading during boot

Hi,

I am running a HP Pavilion dv6-1107AX, and am having some issues with my SD card reader.

The card reader will only register if I have the SD card inserted during boot. To read an SD card, I have to reboot.

While this is manageable, it is incredibly tedious.

Can anybody help me with this issue?

but with an Aspire 5610 with internal cardreader

if a card is in the slot at boot is will be mounted but when removed and reinsertede or an ner card is inserted nothing hapans
