I guess I'll try it. But not as my main OS. I'll stick with Ubuntu for that. Always.

I use Linux Mint 5 for a few months then I switched back to Ubuntu because I like Ubuntu's Add/Remove software manager better then Linux Mint web interface software manager because Add/Remove had more programs but things my have changed sins then
I use Ubuntu on my desktop because it just seems to fit better. I do have a USB pen drive with Mint for my Dell Mini. It looks nicer and ran Compiz out of the box so I can show off to my friends.
Guess I learned some stuff today. Think I'll stick with ubuntu for now
I like it for a number of reasons one I can think of right now it polish. The Mint distro picks up where Ubuntu leaves off adding another couple months for bug fixes and general improvement. This especially evident in the KDE version getting 4 more months of polish after Kubuntu.
i use mint as my os on my laptop... i love it... idk that it runs any slower or faster on my laptop. i like the user interface a little better... but thats just me.. tho the lack of a lock screen button is frustraiting.

I actually really didn't like it. I broke it twice in a four day period, which is really often considering Ive never broken xubuntu or ubuntu in over a year's use.
These days, my computers change so much, all I can say for sure here is ubuntu.
Mint is great, but is dependant on Ubuntu to update its packages so usually each version comes out a bit later than Ubuntu since they have to work on it. Also, you can just google for the Mint repositories and install some of the cool "Mint" applications that are apparent in Mint like MintMenu (aka USP) on Ubuntu. Ive had no issues with codecs on Ubuntu either but Mint does help for the stuff Ubuntu does lack in sometimes.
