UBUNTU GAME NIGHT - UrbanTerror - Aug 9th

Hey people who use Ubuntu and play games,

This Sunday UGN will be playing Urban Terror (http://www.urbanterror.net/news.php) ouuu. Urban Terror is a free team based first person shooter where you shoot people and they bleed to death.

As always UGN events start at 1800 GMT (2 PM EST) on Sunday.

For new Players

1. Download the game from here http://www.urbanterror.net/page.php?6. Make sure to get the .zip and not the .exe.

2. Extract the .zip file anywhere

3. Right click ioUrbanTerror.i386 inside the extracted folder and go to properties. Next select the permissions tab and click the check box next to "Allow executing file as program". Click close.

4. Run UrbanTerror by double clicking on ioUrbanTerror.i386 inside the extracted folder.

5. Play

If you need any help just ask either in this thread or in the IRC chat room.

i have never played this game before. i just downloaded it and tried it in an empty server and it seems well done. I'm looking foward to trying it out on sunday.

I'll try to be online than, the only game I ever got involved a lot online was Nexuiz. But, I think I'll be good enough to hold my own on something that I think is quake 3 based (Or was quake 4?).

I dual boot and 2 more things, how long does the event last and what will be the server ip?

For me it doesn't matter if you play on Windy, BDSy or even Maccy.
The EU are expected to play for about 2 hours, 18:00 → 20:00 GTM
There hasn't been a word on the server yet (but I might not have been listening hard enough). It will probably end up being a public server we will join I am guessing
