    MIcrophone Won't Work

When I launch sound recorder and press record it doesn't pick up any sound. I have a Dell XPS m1730, the microphone is a built in array mic. In Sound Recorder the 'Record from input:' is set to 'Capture' (the only available option). "lspci | grep -i audio" ouputs 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02). I'm not sure what other information might be needed to find a solution so just let me know what is needed/how to get it and I'll post it asap.

I guess I can just hope that they'll expand support for these devices when 9.10 or 10.04 comes out.
