    Yeah. It's really easy.

    1. Go to System Settings.
    2. Go to Add/Remove Software.
    3. Search for "Compiz".
    4. Install the first choice in the results.
    5. Search for "CompizConfig".
    6. Install the first choice in the results.
    7. Go to System Settings.
    8. Go to Default Applications, and under "Windows Manager" select "Compiz"
    9. Apply the settings (it will now switch to Compiz) and restart your computer.
    10. Welcome to Compiz Fusion.

You can then configure Compiz Fusion to the way you like it, with CompizConfigSettingsManager, which you can find in start menu, under Applications< Settings.

I suggest you follow my advice, above, if you're having performance issues.

    Welcome to the future, BTW.

Well this computer is pretty fast (AMD Phenom II x4 2.6GHZ, 4GB Ram, nVidia 9800 GT 512 MB Video Ram), so kde runs pretty quickly. Maybe I should not care if I use more than an 8th of my memory .

And yes, KDE is definitely leading the way in terms of features right now IMO. It's going to be ridiculously good within the next 1 or 2 versions.

I seriously don't understand how you can advocate KDE so much.
I mean.. I know it's personal taste, but it just looks so "bloated" and "edgy". I am yet to see a single screenshot of a KDE desktop which doesn't look like the line drawn map of Africa. Squary borders, big panels and clumsy :s

i'm more apt to believe that the future will lie with e17, however for me the present is most certainly with gnome and xfce.

I can easily see why....the screenshots are looking sharp!

That's the beauty with Ubuntu (and other Linux distro's)...you can use whatever you like.

I can't see how people can like Openbox, Fluxbox so much but hey, if it works for them....

I'm not trying to diss you man, that's why I said it came down to personal taste.

    ...more KDE goodness!
Switched to OpenSUSE 11.1, now I see why people say it's the best implementation of KDE. I love it .
Surprisingly, everything is default (including the Oxygen theme, for some reason I've noticed Bespin slows down apps), except the wallpaper.
