I have a friend that is using my laptop running Ubuntu 9.04 that is currently in a different state, and she wants to be able to hook up her Lexmark X2690 Printer to the system and be able to use it.

I have never encountered any Lexmark printers (only HP), so I did a bit of research on them, and couldn't find anything specific to that model.

I did find this wiki entry:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ha...exmarkPrinters

And then went to the Lexmark website and found a driver for that model, for Ubuntu 8.04, here:
http://downloads.lexmark.com:80/perl...29:1:0:129:0:0

Assuming that she downloads the zip and extracts it, executes the file, runs the setup and it installs successfully (which, I can not guarantee...), would she then be able to select the Lexmark X2690 driver from the "Add Printer" interface?
