He is trying to play his game, or is he trying to learn how to manually configure wine? Go ahead explain to him then.

What are the specifications of your computer, what graphic solution are you using, what vendor?

Have you tried using the latest development version of wine?

I am trying to install KOTOR so far no luck even installing it. My system has an AMD 2.2 ghz processor with 1 gig of ram. My Video card is an Nvidia card with 128 megs of memory. Hope this helps.

did you try the guides on winehq? If not, you should go there before you bother with play on linux which can cause more problems. did you try pulling all the data from the disks into a folder and manually installing via setup.exe? oh and when you get the game installed, use the config option in the launch menu to turn off hardware mouse and disable movies as they dont work.

    hope this helps
