Nvidia 185.18.14 frame rate locked to ~35fps?

Recently wanted try 2.6.30 kernel and currently running this:

2.6.30-02063002-generic

Nvidia drivers didn't want to automatically install when using this kernel so downloaded ones from nvidia site and installed manually:

NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-185.18.14-pkg2.run


Now when running different games noticed framerate is very low, locked
for somereason around ~35fps (tried unreal tournament, urban terror, open arena) ...

What is causing this? Before those games run >100fps.

Hardware is:

quadcore Q6600 / 8G memory / 9500GT 512M pci-e

Running 64bit ubuntu.

Any ides what causes fps to be locked ?

Problem went away when take newest betadrivers to in use:

NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-190.18-pkg2.run
