Lost icon categories on K menu

Hi all,
for some unknown reason, I am having problem changing icons for the items on the K Menu.

As you can see from the screenshot attached, the drop-down menu is not showing any icon category.

The strange thing is that if I try to change icon to other things (for example a desktop shortcut) I can access the icon categories as usual.

I have Kubuntu 9.04 64 bits. It is an almost fresh (re-)install (did it at the end of the last week).

Any idea how can I solve it?

This looks like a bug. It's not present in the KDE 4.3 RC3, so you can upgrade to the KDE 4.3 Release Candidate (see kubuntu.org), or wait for Kubuntu 9.10.

I can eventually test KDE 4.3 RC on a VirtualBox and then upgrade my main machine.
