Is it a problem to run one copy of Ubuntu on multiple hardware? I'd like to install it on my USB drive, and primarily run it on my Laptop, but also be able to use it on my Desktop, people's computers I'm working on, computers around campus, and even in a virtual machine.
So, is this possible, or would all the hardware changes mess up Ubuntu too bad? I've heard this is bad on Windows, especially older versions, but hey, Ubuntu's not Windows!
Just making sure before the install.
Oh, and side-question: does GRUB work fine off a USB drive? I plan on keeping it separate on there, installing several different linux distros to play around with on it, and keep it separate from windows (I can change the boot device of my machines easily, and can always make a boot cd that passes loading to the USB).
